The Access Bank Lagos City Marathon is recognised as one of the leading races in the world. Due to the success of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon and its evident impact on the society, it was nominated as the only African marathon to sit on the panel of the IAAF Global Running Conference this year as one of the top 50 marathons from all over the world.
